PANCASILA AS A STATE PHILOSOPHY

Pancasila is the philosophical basis of the Indonesian State

The government of the Republic of Indonesia is a Democracy based on pancasila (pronounced: Panchaseela) and the 1945 Constitution. Panca means five; Sila is principles.

Pancasila consist of the 5 inseparable and mutually qualifying principles which are:

1 sila : Belief in the one supreme God.

2 sila : Just and civilized humanity.

3 sila : The unity of Indonesia.

4 sila : Democracy led by the wisdom of deliberations among representatives.

5 sila : Social justice for the whole of the people of Indonesia.
